“O son of Adam

Abu Umamah رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “O son of Adam, indeed it is better for you to spend (in charity) and to withhold is evil for you, although there is no reproach (if you withhold) for necessary living. Begin with your dependents, and the upper hand (that gives) is better than the lower hand (that takes.)”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 5, Number 2256]

أَبَا أُمَامَةَ قَالَ  قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنَّكَ أَنْ تَبْذُلَ الْفَضْلَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ وَأَنْ تُمْسِكَهُ شَرٌّ لَكَ وَلَا تُلَامُ عَلَى كَفَافٍ وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى

Go forward in the name of Allah

Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said to his army, “Go forward in the name of Allah, with Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah. Do not kill an old person, do not kill a child, do not small ones, and do not kill women. Do not transgress the limits or steal. And reconcile and behave well. Indeed, Allah loves those who do good.”

[Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 14, Number 2608]

أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ  أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ انْطَلِقُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِاللَّهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا شَيْخًا فَانِيًا وَلَا طِفْلًا وَلَا صَغِيرًا وَلَا امْرَأَةً وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَضُمُّوا غَنَائِمَكُمْ وَأَصْلِحُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

2:93

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَاسْمَعُوا ۖ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُوا فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ ۚ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُم بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

2:93

And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)": They said:" We hear, and we disobey:" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say: "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!"

اور جب ہم نے تم (لوگوں) سے عہد واثق لیا اور کوہ طور کو تم پر اٹھا کھڑا کیا (اور حکم دیا کہ) جو (کتاب) ہم نے تم کو دی ہے، اس کو زور سے پکڑو اور جو تمہیں حکم ہوتا ہے (اس کو) سنو تو وہ (جو تمہارے بڑے تھے) کہنے لگے کہ ہم نے سن تو لیا لیکن مانتے نہیں۔ اور ان کے کفر کے سبب بچھڑا (گویا) ان کے دلوں میں رچ گیا تھا۔ (اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہہ دو کہ اگر تم مومن ہو تو تمہارا ایمان تم کو بری بات بتاتا ہے

Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami mengambil janji dari kamu dan Kami angkat bukit (Thursina) di atasmu (seraya Kami berfirman): "Peganglah teguh-teguh apa yang Kami berikan kepadamu dan dengarkanlah!" Mereka menjawab: "Kami mendengar tetapi tidak mentaati". Dan telah diresapkan ke dalam hati mereka itu (kecintaan menyembah) anak sapi karena kekafirannya. Katakanlah: "Amat jahat perbuatan yang telah diperintahkan imanmu kepadamu jika betul kamu beriman (kepada Taurat).

আর যখন আমি তোমাদের কাছ থেকে প্রতিশ্রুতি নিলাম এবং তুর পর্বতকে তোমাদের উপর তুলে ধরলাম যে, শক্ত করে ধর, আমি যা তোমাদের দিয়েছি আর শোন। তারা বলল, আমরা শুনেছি আর অমান্য করেছি। কুফরের কারণে তাদের অন্তরে গোবৎসপ্রীতি পান করানো হয়েছিল। বলে দিন, তোমরা বিশ্বাসী হলে, তোমাদের সে বিশ্বাস মন্দ বিষয়াদি শিক্ষা দেয়।

و (به یاد آورید) زمانی را که از شما پیمان گرفتیم؛ و کوه طور را بالای سر شما برافراشتیم؛ (و گفتیم:) «این دستوراتی را که به شما داده‌ایم محکم بگیرید، و درست بشنوید!» آنها گفتند: «شنیدیم؛ ولی مخالفت کردیم.» و دلهای آنها، بر اثر کفرشان، با محبت گوساله آمیخته شد. بگو: «ایمان شما، چه فرمان بدی به شما می‌دهد، اگر ایمان دارید!»

Medina is like a furnace

Jabir رضي الله عنه reported: A bedouin came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and gave the pledge of allegiance for embracing Islam. The next day he came with a fever and said, “Please cancel my pledge.” The Prophet refused three times and he said, “Medina is like a furnace; it expels its impurities and collects what is pure.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 30, Number 107]

عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَايَعَهُ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ، فَجَاءَ مِنَ الْغَدِ مَحْمُومًا، فَقَالَ أَقِلْنِي، فَأَبَى ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ، فَقَالَ: الْمَدِينَةُ كَالْكِيرِ، تَنْفِي خَبَثَهَا، وَيَنْصَعُ طَيِّبُهَا

expecting

Jabir رضي الله عنه reported: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Let none of you die without expecting good from Allah.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6877]

عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ  سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ وَفَاتِهِ بِثَلَاثٍ يَقُولُ لَا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ بِاللَّهِ الظَّنَّ

Aisha رضي الله عنها reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Whoever performs a deed that is not in accordance with our matter will have it rejected.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 18, Number 4266]

عَائِشَةُ  أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرُنَا فَهُوَ رَدٌّ
