Fasting

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "If somebody eats or
drinks forgetfully then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten
or drunk, has been given to him by Allah." Narrated 'Amir bin Rabi'a, "I
saw the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) cleaning his teeth with
Siwak while he was fasting so many times as I can't count." And narrated
Abu Huraira, "The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, 'But for my
fear that it would be hard for my followers, I would have ordered them to
clean their teeth with Siwak on every performance of ablution." The same is
narrated by Jabir and Zaid bin Khalid from the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi
Wa Sallam) who did not differentiate between a fasting and a nonfasting
person in this respect (using Siwak).

Aisha  (Radi-Allahu 'anha) said, "The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
Sallam) said, "It (i.e. Siwak) is a purification for the mouth and it is a
way of seeking Allah's pleasures." Ata' and Qatada said, "There is no harm
in swallowing the resultant saliva."

Medicine

Narrated 'Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha):

During the Prophet's (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) fatal illness, he used
to recite the Mu'auwidhat (Surat An-Nas and Surat Al-Falaq) and then blow
his breath over his body. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite
those two Suras and blow my breath over him and make him rub his body with
his own hand for its blessings." (Ma'mar asked Az-Zuhri: How did the
Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) use to blow? Az-Zuhri said: He used
to blow on his hands and then passed them over his face.)

Fasting

Narrated 'Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) fasted for days continuously;
the people also did the same but it was difficult for them. So, the Prophet
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) forbade them (to fast continuously for more
than one day). They said, "But you fast without break (no food was taken in
the evening or in the morning)." The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam)
replied, "I am not like you, for I am provided with food and drink (by
Allah)."

Patients

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

I heard Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) saying, "The good
deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise." (i.e., None can
enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet's companions)
said, 'Not even you, O Allah's Apostle?' He said, "Not even myself, unless
Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me." So be moderate in your religious
deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should
wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds,
and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah."

Medicine

Narrated Khalid bin Sad (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the
way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to
visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven
seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting
mixture into both nostrils, for 'Aisha has narrated to me that she heard
the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) saying, 'This black cumin is
healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha said, 'What is As-Sam?' He
said, 'Death.' "
