Whoever unintentionally

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Whoever unintentionally vomits while he is fasting is not required to perform an expiation, but if he vomits on purpose then he must perform an expiation.”

[Sunan Abu Dawud, Book of Fasting, Number 2380, Sahih]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ ذَرَعَهُ قَيْءٌ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءٌ وَإِنْ اسْتَقَاءَ فَلْيَقْضِ

سنن أبي داود كتاب الصوم باب الصائم يستقيء عامدا

 

This day I have perfected

Tariq ibn Shihab reported: A Jew said to Umar, “You recite a verse which, if it had been revealed to us, we would have taken that day as a holiday.” Umar said, “I know the place and the day on which it was revealed and where the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had been. It was revealed on the day of Arafat where the Messenger of Allah had been staying.” Sufyan said, “I am not sure if it was Friday or not; the verse was: This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you and have chosen Islam as your religion (5:3).”

عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ إِنَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ آيَةً لَوْ أُنْزِلَتْ فِينَا لَاتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ أُنْزِلَتْ وَأَيَّ يَوْمٍ أُنْزِلَتْ وَأَيْنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيْثُ أُنْزِلَتْ أُنْزِلَتْ بِعَرَفَةَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ  قَالَ سُفْيَانُ أَشُكُّ كَانَ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ أَمْ لَا يَعْنِي الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي

صحيح مسلم أن الله عز وجل تابع الوحي على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قبل وفاته حتى توفي

 

Who will these words and act upon

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Who will these words and act upon them or teach someone to act upon them?” I said, “I will, O Messenger of Allah.” So he taught me five sayings, “Beware of what is unlawful and you will be the best worshipper among the people; be satisfied with what Allah has given you and you will be the richest of the people; be kind to your neighbor and you will be a believer; love for the people what you love for yourself and you will be a Muslim; and do not laugh too often, for indeed, too much laughter will deaden the heart.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ يَأْخُذُ عَنِّي هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ فَيَعْمَلُ بِهِنَّ أَوْ يُعَلِّمُ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهِنَّ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَعَدَّ خَمْسًا وَقَالَاتَّقِ الْمَحَارِمَ تَكُنْ أَعْبَدَ النَّاسِ وَارْضَ بِمَا قَسَمَ اللَّهُ لَكَ تَكُنْ أَغْنَى النَّاسِ وَأَحْسِنْ إِلَى جَارِكَ تَكُنْ مُؤْمِنًا وَأَحِبَّ لِلنَّاسِ مَا تُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِكَ تَكُنْ مُسْلِمًا وَلَا تُكْثِرْ الضَّحِكَ فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ الضَّحِكِ تُمِيتُ الْقَلْبَ

سنن الترمذي كِتَاب الزُّهْدِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَاب مَنْ اتَّقَى الْمَحَارِمَ فَهُوَ أَعْبَدُ النَّاسِ

 

The best faith is to

Sahl ibn Mu’adh reported: His father heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, “The best faith is to love for the sake of Allah, to hate for the sake of Allah, and to work your tongue in the remembrance of Allah.” Mu’adh said, “What is it, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “That you love for the people what you love for yourself, and you hate for the people what you hate for yourself, and that you speak goodness or remain silent.”

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَفْضَلِ الْإِيمَانِ قَالَأَفْضَلُ الْإِيمَانِ أَنْ تُحِبَّ لِلَّهِ وَتُبْغِضَ فِي اللَّهِ وَتُعْمِلَ لِسَانَكَ فِي ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَمَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَأَنْ تُحِبَّ لِلنَّاسِ مَا تُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِكَ وَتَكْرَهَ لَهُمْ مَا تَكْرَهُ لِنَفْسِكَ وَأَنْ تَقُولَ خَيْرًا أَوْ تَصْمُتَ

مسند أحمد مُسْنَدُ الْأَنْصَارِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أفضل الإيمان أن تحب لله وتبغض في الله

 

Whoever would love to

Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Al-‘As reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Whoever would love to be delivered from the Fire and entered into Paradise, then let him die with faith in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat the people the way he would love to be treated.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 20, Number 4546]

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُزَحْزَحَ عَنْ النَّارِ وَيَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَلْتُدْرِكْهُ مَنِيَّتُهُ وَهُوَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَأْتِي إِلَى النَّاسِ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُؤْتَى إِلَيْهِ

Do you love

Khalid ibn Abdullah Al-Qasri reported: He was giving a sermon upon the pulpit, saying that his father told him that his grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Do you love Paradise?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “Then love for your brother what you love for yourself.”

خَالِدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَسْرِيَّ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتُحِبُّ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَحِبَّ لِأَخِيكَ مَا تُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِكَ

مسند أحمد أَوَّلُ مُسْنَدِ الْمَدَنِيِّينَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ فأحب لأخيك ما تحب لنفس

Whoever has three

Ibn Al-Qayyim said: The objective is in the saying of Ammar, “Whoever has three qualified together will have gathered the faith: equity with yourself, offering peace to the world, and spending from small amounts,” a comprehensive word for the foundation of goodness and its branches.

[Ibn Al-Qayyim, Zad Al-Ma’ad 374]

وَالْمَقْصُودُ أَنَّ قَوْلَ عمار رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ جَمَعَهُنَّ فَقَدْ جَمَعَ الْإِيمَانَ الْإِنْصَافُ مِنْ نَفْسِكَ وَبَذْلُ السَّلَامِ لِلْعَالِمِ وَالْإِنْفَاقُ مِنَ الْإِقْتَارِ كَلَامٌ جَامِعٌ لِأُصُولِ الْخَيْرِ وَفُرُوعِهِ

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever fasted the month
of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from
Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the
prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward
from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ."

Whoever has three

An-Nawawi wrote: Al-Bukhari said in his authentic collection that Ammar said, “Whoever has three qualified together will have gathered the faith: equity with yourself, offering peace to the world, and spending from small amounts,” and this was narrated to use from others besides Al-Bukhari from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, in the chapter on very famous sayings.

وقال البخاري في صحيحه قال عمار ثلاث من جمعهن فقد جمع الإيمان الإنصاف من نفسك وبذل السلام للعالم والإنفاق من الإقتار وروينا هذا في غير البخاري عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وفي الباب أحاديث كثيرة مشهور
