Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “There is no right for the son of Adam except in these things: a house in which he lives, a garment to cover his nakedness, a piece of bread and water.”

عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ حَقٌّ فِي سِوَى هَذِهِ الْخِصَالِ بَيْتٌ يَسْكُنُهُ وَثَوْبٌ يُوَارِي عَوْرَتَهُ وَجِلْفُ الْخُبْزِ وَالْمَاءِ

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

“If you were to rely upon

Umar ibn Al-Khattab reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “If you were to rely upon Allah with reliance due to Him, then He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning with empty stomachs but return full.”

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرُزِقْتُمْ كَمَا يُرْزَقُ الطَّيْرُ تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

“People whose hearts

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “People whose hearts are like the hearts of birds will enter Paradise.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6808]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ أَقْوَامٌ أَفْئِدَتُهُمْ مِثْلُ أَفْئِدَةِ الطَّيْرِ

صحيح مسلم كِتَاب الْجَنَّةِ وَصِفَةِ نَعِيمِهَا وَأَهْلِهَا بَاب يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ أَقْوَامٌ أَفْئِدَتُهُمْ مِثْلُ أَفْئِدَةِ الطَّيْرِ

 

Sufficient for us is Allah

Ibn Abbas reported: “Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is an excellent protector” was said by Abraham, upon him be peace, when he was thrown into the Fire; and it was said by Muhammad, peace be upon him, when they said, “Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them; but it only increased them in faith and they said: sufficient for us is Allah, and He is an excellent protector.” (3:173)

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 60, Number 86]

عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ قَالَهَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام حِينَ أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ وَقَالَهَا مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

صحيح البخاري كِتَاب تَفْسِيرِ الْقُرْآنِ سُورَةُ آلِ عِمْرَانَ بَاب إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ الْآيَةَ

 

“The Euphrates will soon

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “The Euphrates will soon uncover a treasure of gold, so whoever witnesses it, let him not take anything from it.”

[Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Book of Paradise, Number 2569, Sahih]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ  قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوشِكُ الْفُرَاتُ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ كَنْزٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَمَنْ حَضَرَهُ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

“There are three

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “There are three people whom Allah loves: a man who stood at night reciting the Book of Allah, a man who spent in charity with his right hand while concealing it (or it seems that he said “his left hand”), and a man from a small expedition whose companions were decimated yet he still faced the enemy.”

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ يُحِبُّهُمْ اللَّهُ رَجُلٌ قَامَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ يَتْلُو كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَرَجُلٌ تَصَدَّقَ صَدَقَةً بِيَمِينِهِ يُخْفِيهَا أُرَهُ قَالَ مِنْ شِمَالِهِ وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَانْهَزَمَ أَصْحَابُهُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْعَدُوَّ

سنن الترمذي كِتَاب صِفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثلاثة على كثبان المسك أره قال يوم القيامة يغبطهم الأولون والآخرون

 

“A woman was punished

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “A woman was punished because of a cat she had imprisoned until it died. She entered Hellfire because of it. She did not give it food or water while it was imprisoned, neither did she set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 56, Number 689]

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا  أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عُذِّبَتْ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرَّةٍ سَجَنَتْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ فَدَخَلَتْ فِيهَا النَّارَ لَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلَا سَقَتْهَا إِذْ حَبَسَتْهَا وَلَا هِيَ تَرَكَتْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ

صحيح البخاري كِتَاب أَحَادِيثِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ كان رجل يسرف على نفسه فلما حضره الموت قال لبنيه إذا أنا مت فأحرقوني

 

“Embrace Islam

Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said to a man, “Embrace Islam.” The man said, “I find that I dislike it.” He said, “Even if you dislike it.”
